The Sick House

We have had a house filled with sickies for the past few weeks.  It started with Jason and Jimmy (my brother).  It then moved onto my brother’s fiance, then to me and to Emma.  We think that Emma might have had pneumonia…her chest x-ray was “iffy”.  She just finished her antibiotic and I just finished mine.  Tomorrow is a big day because my sister and I are hosting a shower for my brother’s fiance.  And, wouldn’t you know it…  Emma is running a fever AGAIN as of tonight!  ACK!!   She just wanted to sit on my lap and snuggle.  Please pray that the sickies will leave us…  SOON!

A few pics…

What do you do when you’re sick for a couple of weeks and all cooped up in the house?

Valentine’s Day…Then and Now

emmafebdoc5

February 2007 – This photo was sent to us by our adoption agency during Emma’s adoption process.  Emma’s wonderful foster mother (Hello, L!) is holding Emma’s hand at her monthly medical exam. Look at how little she was!  She was 4 months old in this photo and about 12.5 pounds.  I would love to be able to reach into this photo to hold this sweet baby girl!  We had sent that sweet dress down for her and her foster family always tried to put in some sort of a head band or hair accessory…so sweet!

February 2008 – I love these sweet photos!  They were taken last year on Valentine’s Day (Emma had been home for about 8 months).  Emma was trying to decide if she wanted to sample a cupcake or not…LOL.

February 2009 -  We had a bit of a rocky Valentine’s Day this year…everyone is sick over here!  Ugh!  Here is Emma sampling some frosting.  Her cute hoodie was a Valentine’s Day gift from Grandma and Grandpa (thanks, guys!)

I love looking at then and now photos!  Our sweet baby girl has GROWN so much!  I am blessed to be her Mama!  I hope that you had a fun Valentine’s Day!

God bless,

Tera

Her Puppy and Her Papa

Isn’t that all a girl needs when she is sick and has endured a fever of over 104 degrees?  Emma is very sick.  The doctor said that she might have pneumonia by the looks of her xray.  : (  She has had a difficult weekend.  We headed to the ER early Monday morning because she had not had a wet diaper in 12 hours.  Emma, because of her reflux issues, doesn’t like to eat but when she’s sick, she doesn’t want to eat or drink.  Keeping her hydrated is a major issue and she can really go down hill quickly when she doesn’t drink.  Could you say a prayer for her?  Also, she has had several very difficult months with eating…sometimes only having one good meal per week.  We are using Pediasure and we are supplementing as much as we possibly can but she is still not gaining weight.  And, she has now lost at least a pound or two from this illness.  : (  Hopefully, she will be better ASAP and this illness will not be a setback for her.  If I don’t blog for the rest of the week, it will be because I am taking care of my sweet girl!

I did want to pop in quick to remind you that TODAY is the LAST DAY to order a cookbook from Across All Borders FILLED with recipes submitted by adoptive families and adoption supporters!!  They are 15 dollars each with shipping included!!  That’s a great deal!!  They would make excellent gifts (great for newly weds, wedding showers, families with adopted children…or…ANYONE!)  See the Paypal link in my previous post!
